“Everything is starting to come together”

Lots more progress this week all across the building, flooring, painting, cladding, outside doors, kitchen installation. The phrase “everything is starting to come together” was used by the site construction manager this week. Whilst impossible to show on a photo, the most significant progress this week is the district heating has now been commissioned, making the building nice and warm. As well as being more comfortable for the construction workers, it is also very timely for jobs such as painting and flooring which don’t work well in cold temperatures.

Pallet wood cladding

One of our (cost effective) design features is using used pallet wood as a feature in the building. This brings a texture and a rustic feel and is intended to make the place feel more ‘down to earth’ and less ‘posh’. The first area to be clad this week was the backdrop to the platform in the sanctuary.

Flooring

The flooring contractor (Veitchi) are now installing the flooring throughout the building, aided by the heating now being on which helps the flooring bond to the screed underneath.

Kitchen

Grampian catering have been installing the kitchen, which is more than 50% complete.

Outside doors

Heating on!

This update is much better ‘felt than telt’ but the image below shows the heating control panel now lit up and online!
